TUVALU FLAG
- Size: 150cm x 90cm (5 feet x 3 feet)
- 2 x Metal Eyelets
The Tuvalu flag is an affordable replica that was adopted when the country gained independence in 1978. This flag features a sky blue field with the Union Flag in the canton and nine white stars representing the country's nine islands, arranged geographically correct with east towards the top. The first inhabitants of Tuvalu were Polynesian people who settled on the islands centuries ago. Under British influence starting in the late 19th century, the Ellice Islands (which included Tuvalu) became a protectorate and later part of the Gilbert and Ellice Islands Colony. In 1974, the Ellice Islanders voted for separate dependency status as Tuvalu, leading to full independence in 1978.
